The Democratic Republic of the Congo, DRC

The DRC is one of the richest and most important biodiversity hotspots in the world, encompassing over half of Africa’s tropical forest. It is home to over 15,000 plant and animal species, including more than 3,200 endemics such as the okapi, Congolese peacock, and bonobo.

The DRC is the most biologically diverse country in Africa.
